THE UNITECH TEAM
The combination of our design, management and construction experience on more than 100 projects, involving many varied construction types and locations, has provided us with an intimate and comprehensive understanding of the complete implementation process; Inception, planning, development, design, engineering, costing, scheduling, documentation, tendering, construction, furnishing and fit-up through to turn over and occupancy.
This combination of experience is invaluable in developing efficient lines of communication, facilitating decisions, expediting design and tender documents, suggesting and evaluating alternative building systems, details and materials.
Our extensive in-house costing experience and current regional work enables us to provide accurate budgets and realistic schedules for projects anywhere in the Province.

Rick Boates AScT, GSC
President
Rick founded Unitech Construction Management Ltd. in 1988. He acquired a Diploma in Building Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in June 1972. Is a Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Certified Project Manager and a Member of the Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of British Columbia, as well as the British Columbia Building Envelope Council. Prior to forming Unitech Rick was with Killick Metz Bowen Rose Architects Planners Inc. in Vancouver, as Manager of Construction Administration, for twelve years. Rick also spent two years as a Building Inspector with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, four years with Allen / Ewing Architects, Vancouver and one year with Paine & Associates Architects, Vancouver.

Brian Parker
General Superintendent, Director
Brian joined Unitech in 1993 as a Superintendent, become a shareholder in 1995 and a Director in 2001. He is now Unitech’s General Superintendent for all projects through out BC. Brian holds a certificate as a journeyman carpenter. After graduating from Port Alberni Secondary he completing his apprenticeship with Tidman Construction of Victoria. Brian’s strengths include organizing and scheduling the subtrades and subcontractors on complex, multi-phase projects and complex renovations to occupied buildings. He is also skilled in the use of all in-house cost control and project management software and systems.

Walter Mansell AScT
Senior Project Manager
Wally has been with Unitech since 2002 as a Senior Project Manager. He acquired his Applied Science Technologist diploma from BCIT in 1982 and is a member and past director of Sponsorship for the Project Management Institute, West Coast BC chapter. Prior to joining Unitech Wally was a senior Project Manager with CIBC and an Engineering Technologist for Rockingham Engineering Ltd. Wally’s strengths include : solid background in planning and execution of facilities projects; budgeting, cost control and managing project scope.
